We aim to improve Indonesia's economy in an inclusive manner by providing access to funding to MSMEs, Companies or individuals and to serve the underserved.
GandengTangan uses a crowdlending funding scheme or commonly known as P2P Lending, which is a collaborative fundraising of loans from individuals in the community and domestic and/or foreign institutions to support selected MSMEs, companies or individuals on the GandengTangan platform safely and easily. The refund tenor starts from 1 month to 24 months, according to the funding product and project chosen.
P2P lending is a platform that bridges between MSMEs, companies or individuals, who need business capital with people who want to make online funding. GandengTangan is one of the pioneers of the P2P Lending platform, which brings together MSMEs, companies or individuals (Borrowers or recipients of funds) with the public through online funding (Funders).
In P2P lending, there are several names or designations, one of which is Borrower, which is intended for MSMEs, companies or individuals who need capital. Meanwhile, Lenders are individuals from the community and domestic and / or foreign institutions that conduct online funding by providing funding to fund recipients.
To achieve GandengTangan's goals, we have a team of active, socially conscious, professional, and experts in their respective fields. GandengTangan was first conceived when Jezzie Setiawan, GandengTangan's founder discovered research from McKinsey that predicted that Indonesia would become the 7th largest country by 2030. At the same time, she discovered the first fact that more than 50% of the population in Indonesia still lives below $2, which is the poverty indicator used in the world. If the prediction of Indonesia becoming the 7th largest country in the world is to be realized, then the welfare level of the population must be improved and the economic gap needs to be reduced, one of which is the number of jobs.
The second fact is that 97% of total jobs in Indonesia are created by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, the problem is that 60 million MSMEs in Indonesia have not had access to capital financing from banks due to lack of collateral, bookkeeping, or credit history. So many of them have to borrow from loan sharks with high interest rates even today.
Looking at these two facts, we see that MSMEs have a great opportunity to grow and be able to strengthen the Indonesian economy. It would be better if the community can collaborate with MSMEs to improve the Indonesian economy. One of them is by providing access to capital financing for MSMEs with ease, security, and still in accordance with the calculation of the risk appetite of each Lender. In addition, lenders who provide capital financing to MSMEs will also get appropriate returns, even higher than banking funding instruments, such as savings and deposits.
